Hyde Park

Calling all students!

Situated In-between the city centre and Headingley, Hyde Park is now the key student suburb in Leeds, however it is such a Hive of musical, social, and cultural activity that the area remains popular with the indigenous population!

Being only a few minutes’ walk from the Main University campus’ means that inevitably the area is popular with students, and the drives the local economy with excellent eateries in the form of Moorish, La Cafetiere and L’Oranaise to mention just a few.

The Hyde Park picture house is a superb local cinema showing art house and mainstream films, and which also plays host to the annual international film festival.

The park itself hosts the free Unity day festival once a year to celebrate the diversity of the local community. Music and stalls from all walks of life give a great party atmosphere and aptly reflect this unique area of Leeds.

Property in the area is a mix of brick built back to back terraces, and large Victorian properties fronting onto the park itself. There are also some newer developments to satisfy the student population.

Transport links are plentiful, with regular buses and trains into the city centre, and many taxi cab companies located in the area.

There are several primary and secondary schools within the area. These fall under the Leeds Local Education Authority. Please find below a link to primary and secondary education facilities within Burley and the surrounding area.
